Bridging Cameroon and Bristol
Bristol and Cameroon share strong, meaningful connections through conservation, education, and community. Bristol Zoo actively leads conservation initiatives in Cameroon’s Bénoué National Park, while University of Bristol scholars research Cameroonian wildlife, ecology, and heritage. These academic and environmental links complement our local Diaspora, enriching Bristol’s diverse cultural landscape Bristol and Cameroon are linked by a shared commitment to conservation, education, and vibrant cultural exchange. Bristol Zoological Society works directly on the ground in Cameroon’s Bénoué National Park, funding eco-guards, monitoring wildlife like the endangered Kordofan giraffe, and housing rare Cameroonian cichlids in its Central African habitat. Meanwhile, academics at the University of Bristol collaborate on research spanning African university dynamics, ecology, and global health.
